HighSchoolOT is providing a preview of the upcoming wrestling season through its yearly watch list.

The list of wrestlers consists of 44 individuals from various locations within the state. The rankings will take into account all teams from every division and will be revised during the middle of the season, at the conclusion of the regular season, and following the state championships.

Both Cameron Stinson from Mallard Creek and Kage Williams from Robbinsville have the opportunity to become four-time state champions in wrestling.

Stinson has an unblemished record of 141 wins and 0 losses in high school matches.

Please note that the majority of wrestlers are listed with their previous state results, such as SQ for state qualifier, DNQ for did not qualify, 6 for sixth place, and so on.

  • Lorenzo Alston, a sophomore at Uwharrie Charter, was crowned the 1A 145 State Champion with an impressive record of 59 wins and only 2 losses. He was also recognized as part of the HSOT 2nd Team All-State.

  • Samuel Aponte, a senior at Cape Fear High School, was the champion in the 3A 106 pound weight class with a record of 34 wins and 3 losses. He also earned the title of State Champion and was a member of the HSOT First Team All-State.

  • Charleston Baglio, a senior at Central Cabarrus High School, was crowned the 3A 126-pound State Champion with an impressive record of 47 wins and only 2 losses. He also earned the title of HSOT 1st Team All-State.

  • Alex Barnett, a junior from New Bern, placed third in the 4A 106 weight class at the HSOT championships with a record of 44-4. He was also named to the HSOT 3rd team All-State.

  • Jace Barrier, a sophomore from Mooresville, placed 2nd in the 4A 106 weight class with a record of 47-5. He also received honorable mention for the HSOT All-State team.

  • Jackson Buck from Lumberton High School, a senior, placed second in the 4A 182 pound weight class with a record of 52-2. He was also recognized as a member of the HSOT 2nd team All-State.

  • Colt Campbell, a junior from Hickory Ridge High School, placed 5th in the 4A 145 weight class with a record of 60-5. He also received Honorable Mention for the All-State team by HSOT.

  • Jaelen Culp, a sophomore from Kings Mountain, placed 4th in the 3A 138 weight class with a record of 34-5. He was also recognized as an HSOT HM All-State athlete.

  • Cooper Davis, a senior from Cox Mill High School, was crowned the 4A 126 State Champion with an impressive record of 49 wins and 2 losses. He did not qualify for two competitions and placed second in one. He was also named to the HSOT 1st team All-State.

  • Cael Dunn, a sophomore at Avery County, was the 1A 170 State Champion with a record of 56-1. He was also named to the HSOT 2nd team All-State.

  • Shayden Edwards, a senior from East Rowan High School, placed second in the 3A 138 weight class with a record of 36-5. He was also named to the 2nd team All-State by HSOT.

  • Junior Jose Flores from Southwestern Randolph High School was named the 2A 220 State Champion with a record of 31-2. He also received Honorable Mention on the HSOT All-State team.

  • Junior Cooper Foster from Avery County was crowned the 1A 106 State Champion with a perfect record of 52 wins and 0 losses. He also earned a spot on the HSOT 2nd team All-State.

  • Trevor Freeman, a senior at A.L. Brown High School, was crowned 4A 113 State Champion with an impressive record of 49 wins and 6 losses. He also received recognition as a first team All-State player by HSOT.

  • Ian Fritz, a junior at Topsail High School, was the 4A 132-pound State Champion with a record of 51-2. He also earned a 4-1 record and was named to the HSOT 2nd team All-State.

  • Liam Hickey, a junior from Cardinal Gibbons, placed third in the 4A 126 weight class with a record of 46-2 and a 3-3 match record. He was also named to the HSOT 2nd team All-State.

  • Xander Hill, Pisgah (senior) — 3A 152 2nd Place (46-5) — HSOT HM All-State
  • Elijah Horton, a sophomore from Morehead, was named the 2A 106 State Champion with a record of 44-2. He also received recognition as a second team All-State player from HSOT.

  • Rayshun James, a senior from Reidsville, won the 2A 126 State Championship with a record of 37-2 and a score of 2-1-1. He was also named to the HSOT 2nd team All-State.

  • Benjamin Jordan, a senior from Avery County, was the 1A 120 State Champion with a record of 51-3. He was also selected for the HSOT 3rd team All-State.

  • Ryan Mann from North East Carolina Prep, a junior, placed second in the 1A division for the 132 weight class with a record of 58-1. He was also recognized as an honorable mention for the HSOT All-State team.

  • Nicholas Mascolino, a senior at Union Pines High School, was crowned the 3A 182 State Champion with an impressive record of 55 wins and 3 losses. He was also selected as a member of the HSOT 3rd team All-State.

  • Senior Trinity Spencer placed second in the 2A 120 weight class with a record of 50-7, earning Honorable Mention All-State recognition from HSOT.

  • Josh Miller from Seaforth High School (senior) placed 2nd in the 2A 113 weight class with a record of 36-1. He was also selected for the HSOT 3rd team All-State.

  • Eli Murray, a senior from Lake Norman High School, placed second in the 4A 132-pound division with a record of 40-7. He also earned a spot on the HSOT 2nd team All-State.

  • Eli Pendergrass, a senior from Northwest Guilford High School, finished in second place in the 4A 120-pound weight class with a record of 56-5. He was also named to the HSOT 1st team All-State.

  • Dylan Pepin, a senior from Northwest Guilford High School, placed 5th in the 4A 132 weight class with a record of 58-5. He was also selected as a member of the HSOT 3rd team All-State.

  • Landon Pope, a sophomore from Pisgah High School, placed third in the 3A 182-pound division with a record of 45-7. He received an honorable mention for the HSOT All-State team.

  • Jacob Price, a senior at Surry Central High School, was crowned the 2A 160 State Champion with a record of 19 wins and 1 loss. He did not qualify for the 1-1 bracket. He was also selected for the HighSchoolOT 3rd team All-State.

  • Grant Reece is a senior at Avery County High School and was the 1A 132 State Champion with a record of 43 wins and 3 losses. He was also recognized as an Honorable Mention All-State player by HSOT.

  • Gabe Rogers from Seaforth High School, a sophomore, placed second in the 2A 106 weight class with a record of 39 wins and 2 losses. He was also named to the HSOT All-State 3rd team.
