In the first round of the 3A playoffs, West Carteret defeated Harnett Central by a score of 4-29.

West Carteret is approaching the postseason one set at a time, which is beneficial given the performance of their sets during Saturday’s first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A volleyball playoffs.

The visiting Harnett Central team was defeated by the Patriots with a score of 3-0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-12) thanks to their exceptional serve-receive, strong passing, and dominant kills led by Rachael Chambers and her teammates.

The Trojans finished their season with a record of 10 wins and 15 losses.

The Patriots (21-3) are scheduled to face the 13th-seeded South Johnston in the upcoming Tuesday’s second round. The Trojans placed second in the Quad County Conference.
