Green Hope achieved a sweep over Chapel Hill, advancing to the fourth round.

Green Hope has emerged victorious over a strong Chapel Hill team for the second time this month. This victory has propelled the Falcons to the fourth round.

Green Hope downed the Tigers in a 3-1 non-conference match on Oct. 11 and swept them tonight in a matchup played in the home gymnasium of the Tigers.

The Falcons are the 11-seed in the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A East playoffs, and Chapel Hill was the 3-seed.

Chapel Hill only suffered its third defeat of the season, concluding with an impressive overall record of 22-3.

Green Hope was victorious in the initial set with a score of 25-18. During the second set, the Falcons managed to fend off Chapel Hill, even after the Tigers tied the set at 22 with a 9-4 run. Ultimately, the Falcons came out on top with a score of 25-23. The third set was dominated by Green Hope as they jumped to an early 11-5 lead, leading to a timeout being called. Despite Chapel Hill calling a timeout when Green Hope reached match point at 24-14, Green Hope was able to secure the win with a final score of 25-16.

On Saturday, Green Hope will face off against the 2nd seed team D.H. Conley in the fourth round. Conley won in straight sets against the 26th seed team Jordan tonight.
