Aston Villa vs Chelsea Prediction & Betting Tips | 27/04/2024 | Football

Our prediction for this Premier League match:

Aston Villa

Aston Villa

Chelsea

Chelsea

Villa Park will be the centre of attention when Aston Villa and Chelsea square off against each other in a highly-anticipated Premier League game. The Villans aim to build on back-to-back wins over Arsenal and Bournemouth and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Midfielder Douglas Luiz is back from suspension, while all Alex Moreno, Nicolo Zaniolo, Jacob Ramsey, and Tyrone Mings continue to miss out with injuries.

The Blues, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 5-0 loss to Arsenal and seeing that Aston Villa are eyeing a spot in the Champions League, home win should be considered. Mauro Pochettino should recall Cole Palmer to the starting XI after the Chelsea star missed the London derby through illness, with fit-again left back Ben Chilwell pushing for a start as well. The likes of Reece James, Wesley Fofana, and Christopher Nkunku are out of contention with injuries for the visiting team.

Highlighted Player (Raheem Sterling):

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling is an English professional footballer plays for Manchester City in the Premier League. The winger who is known for his lightning pace and dribbling ability started his youth career as a five-year-old playing for Alpha and Omega. In 2003, he joined QPR’s youth academy and spent seven years with them before signing for Liverpool in 2010.

At Liverpool, Sterling made his professional debut, coming on as a substitute in a league match against Wigan Athletic on the 24th of March, 2012. He went on to make over 120 appearances in all competitions for the Reds, scoring 23 goals and providing 25 assists in the process. In August 2015, Sterling joined Manchester City on a transfer worth 49 million pounds, which made the most expensive English footballer at the time.

Sterling, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica, holds both the English and Jamaican citizenship but chose to represent England at the International stage. Highlighted Team (Aston Villa):

Aston Villa

Aston Villa is one of the three clubs that dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign. The Villans host their rivals at Villa Park, the stadium that was opened in 1897 and its’ capacity is 42,682. However, it has to be noted that the highest attendance recorded at the stadium was 76,588 when Aston Villa faced Derby County in the FA Cup back in 1946.

Aston Villa’s fiercest rivals are Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Aston Villa and Wolves and Coventry City is big as well. Aston Villa have won seven First Division (Premier League) trophies, with the team clinching seven FA Cup trophies as well.

The team’s biggest success, though, came in 1982 when they won the European Cup. The Villans defeated Bayern Munich (1-0) in the title game and Peter Withe was named the man of the match.
