Some suggestions for things to watch this week include the movie “Barbie,” a virtual concert by Taylor Swift, a performance by Cody Johnson, and the TV show “Reacher.”

New television, movies, and music are coming to your device, including “Barbie” on Max streaming service and the second season of “Reacher” with Alan Ritchson on Prime Video.

Some noteworthy options for streaming, chosen by The Associated Press’ entertainment reporters, include a reunion of original cast members from “The Real Housewives of New York” on a new Bravo show, a holiday television event featuring country artist Cody Johnson, and Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concert film now available for premium on-demand viewing.

The highly anticipated film “Barbie” by Greta Gerwig will now be available for streaming on Max (previously known as HBO Max). After its successful theatrical run, which earned $1.4 billion, the film can also be rented on video-on-demand. Get ready for the must-see movie of 2023 by preparing your Mojo Dojo Casa House today.

After performing in various stadiums across North America and achieving great success in theaters, Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” will now be available in homes on her birthday. The concert film, titled “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” features highlights from Swift’s career and will be released for premium on-demand viewing on Wednesday. The cost for digital rental has not been disclosed, but tickets for the movie were priced at $19.89, a nod to Swift’s album “1989.” In addition to the original 2 hour and 49 minute runtime, three extra songs – “Wildest Dreams,” “Long Live,” and “The Archer” – have been added, making the film over three hours long. In her review, AP Music Writer Maria Sherman praised the opportunity to see the Time Magazine Person of the Year up close in “The Eras Tour,” stating that it accurately captures the experience of Swift’s blockbuster concert performance.

After more than 20 years since the first release of “Chicken Run,” Aardman Animations has revisited the story of its determined feathered hero, Ginger, in the sequel “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.” The original film, released in 2000, still holds the record for the highest grossing stop-motion animated movie, earning over $227 million in ticket sales. However, “Dawn of the Nugget,” which features a new voice cast including Thandiwe Newton, Bella Ramsey, and Zachary Levi, will premiere on Netflix on Friday, December 15. In this film, Ginger has escaped from Tweedy Farm and found a new sanctuary, but must once again lead her flock to freedom.

In the movie “The Delinquents” by writer-director Rodrigo Moreno, the character Morán (played by Daniel Eliás) comes up with a clever plan to steal from the bank where he is employed. He decides to only take the amount he would have earned in 25 years of work, and entrusts the money to his colleague (Esteban Bigliardi). He then confesses to the crime and serves a three-year sentence in jail, after which he plans to live the rest of his life on his own terms. The film, available for streaming on Mubi on Friday, December 15, uses elements of a traditional heist movie but also delves into deeper themes of existence, labor, and stolen time.
