UNC and App State are both extending offers to Jabian Shabazz, a 6’7 lineman from Oak Grove.

Jabian Shabazz, a sophomore lineman at Oak Grove High School, has started his recruitment on a strong note this autumn, standing at 6 feet and 7 inches tall and weighing 280 pounds.

Based on his physique, Shabazz is expected to excel as an offensive tackle.

On the weekend, Shabazz received an offer from Appalachian State University, making it the second school to do so. He posted the news on his X account.

In late September, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s football team was the first to offer a spot to Shabazz.

Oak Grove has a record of 10 wins and 1 loss this season and has earned the 6th spot in the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 3A West playoffs. In the first round, the Grizzlies dominated with a score of 34-0 against Ashbrook and will now face 11th seeded Pisgah in the second round on Friday.

In addition, Shabazz is a member of the Oak Grove basketball team.

During his freshman year, Shabazz had an average of 5.4 points and led the team with 6.1 rebounds per game. The Grizzlies ended the season with a 12-14 record.
