The state championship for individual girls’ tennis is planned for this weekend.


This weekend, the N.C. High School Athletic Association will host the state championships for individual girls tennis.

The singles and doubles tournaments will start on Friday morning and end on Saturday at four various places in central North Carolina.

The coaches will have a meeting every day at 8:30 a.m., followed by play starting at 9 a.m.

In the 1A division, all matches leading up to the semifinals will take place on Friday. The final match will occur on Saturday morning at the Cary Tennis Park.

The remaining categories, namely 2A, 3A, and 4A, will have an additional round and will finish the quarterfinals on Friday. The semifinals and finals will then take place on Saturday morning.

The 2A tournaments will occur at Ting Park in Holly Springs, the 3A tournaments will be hosted at the Burlington Tennis Center, and the 4A tournaments will be held at the Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center in Raleigh.

These are the brackets for all of the tournaments.

The state playoffs for dual-team girls tennis are currently in progress. The third round was finished on Wednesday night. The fourth round will take place on October 30, regionals on November 1, and the state championships on November 4 at the Burlington Tennis Center.
