The Carolina Panthers are picking up the fifth-year option for cornerback Jaycee Horn, the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Friday.
The Panthers will exercise the $12.5 million option for Horn in 2025. Horn is set to make $3.53 million this season.
Horn was the team’s 2021 first-round pick out of South Carolina. He has dealt with injury issues throughout the first three seasons of his NFL career.
Horn has appeared in 22 games in the past three seasons, missing 29 games due to injury in that span. However, Horn has produced when he’s health, compiling 85 tackles, four interceptions and 13 pass deflections so far in his NFL career.
In the 2023 season, Horn missed 11 games due to a recurring hamstring injury, which required surgery.
