Hintz and Lea from WRALSportsFan.com: The Panthers have achieved their first victory of the season.

Kacy Hintz and Chris Lea discuss the Panthers’ first victory of the year, where they triumphed over the Houston Texans with a score of 15-13.

Welcome back to sports extra. Our guest today is Chris Lee, joining us from Bank of America Stadium. The highly anticipated showdown between Young and CJ Stroud, the top two picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, resulted in a victory for Young. This solidifies the Panthers’ belief in Young as their top pick, although only time will tell if he truly is the right choice for the team. Despite Stroud’s impressive performance, he will always have the loss to Young on his record. Young has also made history as only the third rookie quarterback to complete 20 or more passes in his first six games. However, he faces challenges with a struggling offensive line and receivers. On the other hand, Stroud has better circumstances but has not been able to shine as much as Young in similar situations. The Panthers’ offensive coordinator, Thomas Brown, took over play-calling duties and led the team to their first win. Young’s comfort and control on the field were evident, possibly due to his strong relationship with Brown. At halftime, there was a special ceremony honoring Julius Peppers and Mason Mohammad as they were inducted into the Carolina Panthers Hall of Honor. Peppers, a North Carolina native who played for both Southern Nash and UNC Chapel Hill, was especially emotional about receiving this recognition from his hometown team. Mousa Mohammed, a successful businessman and former Panthers wide receiver, was also honored. Both Peppers and Mohammed serve as inspirations for young athletes, proving that hard work and determination can lead to success.
