Girls Lacrosse Rankings: At end of regular season, three new teams join top 25

Cardinal Gibbons is still No. 1 as the HighSchoolOT girls lacrosse rankings get ready to pause for the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs.

There weren’t many changes needed from last week, with East Chapel Hill falling from sixth to eighth as the only change in the top 15. Laney moved up two spots as did Cuthbertson, while Myers Park and West Forsyth were leapfrogged.

At the bottom of the rankings, Croatan, Saint Mary’s, and Swansboro joined the top 25. For Swansboro, it’s the first time the Pirates have ever cracked the rankings in girls lacrosse. The trio replaces Lake Norman, Northwest Guilford, and R.J. Reynolds.

Rankings reminders:

  • Rankings are updated weekly and released on every Sunday
  • All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25
  • Rankings are paused during the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs
  • Final rankings are released the week after the state championships
