Four more charter schools will become part of NCHSAA in the academic year 2024-2025.
Four more charter schools will become members of the N.C. High School Athletic Association in the 2024-2025 academic year.
The NCHSAA membership additions were approved during the consent agenda at the NCHSAA Board of Directors meeting held on Wednesday.
Some of the new NCHSAA members are American Leadership Academy, Jackson Day School, Phoenix Academy, and Summit Charter Academy.
NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker stated that the four schools will need to seek out a conference to join in the upcoming year, as the NCHSAA is currently in the process of realigning. There is a chance that a conference may put forth a proposal next spring to include one of the four schools in their league.
In the upcoming year, the NCHSAA will consist of 440 schools as members.
All four schools applied to become members of the NCHSAA and their membership was unanimously approved by the board.
