On Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium, Ryan O’Connor passed for four touchdowns and Khalil Dawsey intercepted two passes, helping No. 8 Delaware defeat Campbell 45-7.

The Blue Hens (8-2, 6-1 CAA) maintained their position at the top of the CAA rankings by defeating Campbell (4-6, 3-4 CAA), who suffered their third consecutive loss.

In the first quarter, Delaware scored 21 points with two touchdown passes from O’Connor and a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown by Dawsey. Despite driving into Delaware’s territory on their first four possessions, Campbell’s two turnovers resulted in 14 points for UD.

In the third quarter, O’Connor threw two more touchdown passes, increasing the Blue Hens’ lead to 38-0. Campbell finally scored with a keeper from Hajj-Malik Williams.

O’Connor threw 19 out of 31 passes for 246 yards and had one interception. He made two touchdown throws to Joshua Youngblood, who caught four passes for 53 yards. This helped Delaware’s offense gain more yards than CU, with a total of 406-288. Jordan Townsend also had a strong performance with five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. Quincy Watson carried the ball 11 times for 40 yards.

Jackson Taylor and Keeno Arrington both had eight tackles on defense, and Ty Davis contributed six tackles, including one of the Blue Hens’ six tackles for loss during the game.

Williams threw for 161 yards and had two interceptions, while Anderson caught six passes for 84 yards. McDowell and McKay, Jr. teamed up for 125 rushing yards for the Camels.

In the defeat, Monchovia Gaffney recorded seven tackles and one sack, while Tyus Fields made an interception.

The regular season will conclude on November 18 with a game at North Carolina A&T for Campbell.
