The Carolina Panthers announced on Friday that rookie quarterback Bryce Young has been cleared of his ankle injury and is anticipated to begin playing on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Bryce Young has completed his third consecutive day as a fully participating member and is not listed as injured for Sunday’s game.

Young was absent for the Week 3 match against the Seattle Seahawks.

The team has announced that Panther safety Xavier Woods will not be able to play in Sunday’s game because of a hamstring injury.

Three additional members of the Panthers team have been marked as uncertain. Linebacker Frankie Luvu (suffering from a hip injury) only participated partially in Friday’s session, while running back Miles Sanders (dealing with a groin issue) did not practice at all. Rookie wide receiver Jonathan Mingo is still following the concussion protocol and was present at practice wearing a red jersey.

In the absence of Young, experienced quarterback Andy Dalton took the reigns in Week 3 against the Seahawks. Despite a 37-27 loss for the Panthers, Dalton had a strong performance, completing 34 out of 58 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns.

Neither the Panthers nor the Vikings have won a game this season, heading into their matchup this weekend with 0-3 records.

The game between the Panthers and Vikings will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. It will be broadcasted on FOX 50.
