Baseball Rankings: Six new teams enter another shuffled statewide top 25; 10 join area code rankings

It’s not quite as big of a change as a week ago, but there are still significant changes to this week’s HighSchoolOT statewide Top 25 baseball rankings.

Out are Wayne Country Day, Hoggard, Weddington, Wakefield, Marvin Ridge, and North Lenoir. Replacing them are Wake Forest, East Rowan, Hough, Providence, South Mecklenburg, and North Stanly.

There are also 10 new teams in the area code top 15 rankings, including new No. 1 teams in the 919 (Leesville Road) and 910 (Whiteville).

Rankings reminders:

  • Rankings are updated weekly and released on Monday
  • All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25
  • There is a separate top 15 for the state’s six area codes that is also updated weekly
  • Rankings are paused during the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs
  • Final rankings are released the week after the state championships
