— Aziaha James scored 20 points, Mimi Collins had a perfect night shooting and 18 points and No. 14 North Carolina State coasted to a 90-35 win over Elon on Wednesday night.

After defeating No. 2 UConn 92-81 on Sunday, N.C. State continued their strong performance by defeating Collins with 14 points in a 15-0 run, leading the Wolfpack to a 28-12 lead in the first quarter.

In the first 10 minutes, N.C. State made 11 out of 14 shots from the field. They then stepped up their defense in the second quarter, limiting the Phoenix to only 1 out of 15 shots and taking a commanding 44-14 lead by halftime.

During the first half, James and Collins both scored 14 points, while the Wolfpack had a 59% shooting percentage and a 31-7 rebounding advantage. Hayes also contributed 10 points.

N.C. State’s Hayes scored 15 points, while Collings had a perfect 8-for-8 shooting record, including a 3-pointer and a free throw. The team overall shot 52% and made seven 3-pointers on 22 attempts, and also had a flawless 17-for-17 performance from the foul line.

Saniya Rivers, who was named the NCAA and ACC player of the week, scored 33 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and made five assists in a game against the Huskies. In a separate game, she had six points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

Elon’s shooting percentage was only 24%, making 2 of 15 attempts from the three-point line and only 3 of 5 from the free throw line. They were also outrebounded by a large margin of 57-20. None of their players scored more than six points or grabbed more than three rebounds.

North Carolina State will conclude their four-game homestand by playing against Rhode Island on Sunday for their season opener.
