Founded on August 1, 1883, Bristol Rovers is among the most historic teams in League One. The club was created during a gathering at Eastville Restaurant and initially went by the name Black Arabs, in honor of the rugby team, the Arabs.

However, the name only lasted for one season as the club was rebranded as Eastville Rovers in 1884. Five years later, the club’s official name was changed to Bristol Rovers. Known as the Pirates, Bristol Rovers host their opponents at Memorial Stadium Horfield, which can hold up to 12,296 people. The team is recognized for their blue and white home uniform, but they wear yellow when playing away from home.

Ricky Lambert, a former player for teams such as Southampton and Liverpool in the Premier League, is considered one of the most prominent footballers of the club. It should be noted that Lambert scored a total of 51 goals in 128 games for the Pirates in the league.
