Our prediction for this Euro 2024 match:

Albania

Albania

Spain

Spain

Spain will be aiming to keep their 100% record in Group B intact when they take on Albania at Merkur Spiel-Arena. La Furia Roja have already clinched top position in the standings, meaning that star players should be rested in the last group game. Man City midfielder Rodri serves a one-game ban, while all Mikel Oyarzabal, Ferran Torres, and Mikel Merino should be recalled to the starting XI.

The Albanians, on the other hand, produced a fine display in a 2-2 draw with Croatia, but is unlikely to help them book their spot in the knockout stages. Even though Spain boss Luis de la Fuente is going to mix the squad this time out, away win should be considered as the Spaniards have strength in depth. There are no fresh injury worries in Sylvinho’s team ahead of the Merkur Spiel-Arena showdown. In their last meeting in a competitive match Spain outplayed Albania 3-0.

Dani Carvajal is a Spanish footballer who is a product of Real Madrid’s youth academy. After making 68 appearances for Castilla, he moved to Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 and he was producing outstanding performances with the Bundesliga outfit in the 2012/2013 season.

In the summer of 2013 he returned to Real Madrid as los Blancos exercised their buy-back option and the pacey full back has been playing for the Spanish giants ever since. Carvajal won two Champions League trophies with Real Madrid (2013/2014, 2015/2016), but he has yet to win the La Liga trophy with the capital club. Dani has five caps for Spain U21 and he played his fifth game for the senior team against Macedonia in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

He made his Spain debut on 4 September, 2014 in a 1-0 loss France in Paris. Speaking of his individual honours, he was named in the Champions League team of the season (2013/2014). Dani Carvajal has a contract with Real Madrid which expires on 30 June, 2020.

Highlighted Team (Albania):

Albania

The Albanian national football team has represented the country on international stage since 1946, and it is interesting to note that Albania was one of the founding members of UEFA back in 1954. The Eagles have enjoyed very little success in the 20th century, but they managed to show some improvement at the turn of the century and eventually secured their first ever appearance at a major tournament.

Albania qualified for the Euro 2016 finals as they came second in their qualifying group behind Portugal, taking 14 points from 8 matches, with Italian coach Gianni De Biasi at the helm. The Eagles have never qualified for the World Cup finals in 11 attempts, winning mere 14 of 94 World Cup qualifiers.

Former Lazio defender Lorik Cana has worn the captain’s armband over the last few years and he is Albania’s most capped player, while former Chievo forward Erjon Bogdani still holds the record for most goals for the national team, with 18 strikes in 74 appearances.
