KC Concepcion scored two touchdowns, one of which was a 72-yard catch-and-run in the third quarter. In addition, Payton Wilson contributed to North Carolina State’s 24-17 victory over Clemson on Saturday by intercepting a pass and returning it for a 15-yard score. This loss marks the second in a row for the Tigers.
Morris of the Wolfpack completed 11 of 20 passes for 138 yards and threw two touchdown passes in the game. The team’s record is now 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Concepcion accumulated a total of 134 yards in offense.
Clemson (4-4, 2-4) saw Phil Mafah make two 1-yard runs for scores. Despite being ranked No. 9 before the season and being the reigning ACC champions, the Tigers will start November in the lower half of the conference rankings.
Clemson advanced to the N.C. State 48 yard line on their last chance, but were stopped by a sack and an incomplete pass on fourth down.
Cade Klubnik, the quarterback for Clemson, completed 33 out of 50 passes for a total of 263 yards with two interceptions.
Wilson caught a deflected pass from Klubnik, thrown by his teammate Devin Betty, and scored a touchdown on the left side of the end zone. This was the Wolfpack’s first touchdown in over 27 minutes of game play.
In the third quarter, Concepcion ran 72 yards for a touchdown catch, helping the Wolfpack to a 24-7 advantage.
Concepcion was responsible for 59 out of the 60 yards gained on the initial scoring drive of the game. He made a 50-yard run that led to his 9-yard touchdown reception.
In the first quarter, the Tigers had four opportunities to score, but they resulted in three punts and one interception.
Before Mafah’s 41-yard run, Clemson had accumulated just 32 rushing yards. This run led to a 19-yard field goal by Jonathan Weitz at the 6:57 mark.
SHIPLEY GOES OUT
During the second quarter, Clemson’s running back Will Shipley sustained an upper-body injury after being tackled at the 1-yard line following an 11-yard reception. He did not return to the game.
Before the game, Shipley had accumulated 494 yards rushing, ranking him fifth in the ACC. During Saturday’s game, he gained 21 yards on six carries.

Clemson’s offense seemed disorganized at certain points. They attempted 51 passes and had 30 rushing plays. The team has been unsuccessful in their past two trips to Raleigh, with the Wolfpack only winning twice in the last 11 overall meetings.
