WRALSportsFan.com reports that another sports betting operator in North Carolina is ready to start accepting bets as the launch date approaches.

According to meteorologist Brian Murphy at WRAL,

In a few weeks, North Carolina will be launching mobile sports betting throughout the entire state. As a result, one of the top names in the gambling industry will now be operating within the state.

On Tuesday, Caesars declared that they will be continuing their collaboration with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to incorporate mobile sports betting via Caesars Sportsbook. The EBCI had previously submitted an application for a license to operate from the North Carolina Lottery Commission.

The two Cherokee casinos located in western North Carolina are managed by Harrah’s, which is a brand of Caesars.

“We are thrilled about our new partnership with Caesars Entertainment and the improvements it brings to our Tribal business,” stated Michell Hicks, the principal chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. “We eagerly anticipate the ongoing prospects that will positively impact the future of our community.”

Both the Cherokee and Catawba, who are recognized as federally recognized tribes, have submitted applications for an operator license. To obtain a license, operators are required to have written agreements with teams, venues, or governing bodies in the world of sports.

Caesars announced its plan to launch at 12 PM on March 11, which is when mobile sports betting will begin in North Carolina. On March 1, operators will be able to enable customers to set up and add funds to their accounts.

Caesars will possess sole privileges for mobile sports betting at the two casinos and on land belonging to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in the far western region of North Carolina.

On March 11, up to nine operators may launch, such as bet365, Fanatics Sportsbook, Bet ESPN, Underdog Sports, BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, and Caesars. The Catawba tribe has not yet revealed who their partner will be for their license.

The lottery commission has not yet made public the list of licensed operators.
