The results may differ when using mayonnaise, as it heavily relies on what it is combined with.

JJ Jones, a wide receiver from North Carolina, expressed his fondness for Duke’s mayonnaise.

The University of North Carolina’s football season began with the Duke’s Mayo Classic against South Carolina and ended with the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against West Virginia on December 27th. These games took place at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium. Jones expressed a desire for coach Mack Brown to receive a mayo bath as a postgame “reward” if the team wins the bowl game.

Drake Maye in the pocket

However, the Tar Heels are determined to erase the memory of their 39-20 defeat against NC State as the regular season came to a close. According to Jones, “We made an effort to move on from that game the following day.”

UNC failed to appear at the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in 2021, resulting in a 38-21 defeat against the Gamecocks. Jones recalled, “It appeared that we lacked enthusiasm for the game.”

Jones maintains that the Heels are driven this time. “I made it clear to everyone on the team, if you don’t want to participate in that match, don’t even bother coming out,” he stated.

UNC will not have two key players, quarterback Drake Maye and linebacker Cedric Gray, for the bowl game as both have announced their intentions to enter the NFL Draft.

Redshirt freshman Conner Harrell will fill in for Maye as the quarterback. Harrell expressed gratitude for the chance to play and his current position, having thrown for 71 yards and one touchdown in six pass attempts across three games as a backup this season.

Harrell expressed confidence in his abilities, stating that he is capable of anything. He mentioned his athleticism and how he can excel in throwing, including deep throws on the field. With West Virginia having limited film on him, he anticipates it will be a challenge for them to prepare for him.

Harrell’s job may be new, but his daily routine remains unchanged. He shared that he starts each day by waking up, making his bed, playing brain games, and having his usual breakfast of a toasted bagel, eggs, oatmeal, and fruit.

But no mayo.
