— The FC Series is running it back in 2024, with Manchester City and Celtic FC clashing Tuesday at Kenan Memorial Stadium as part of a collection of friendlies this year.

The first of the FC Series matches will start at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. More information about parking can be found here.

This is the second-ever international match at Kenan Stadium. Last July, Chelsea defeated Wrexham at Kenan Stadium in front of a reported crowd of 50,596 people. Proceeds from the match this year will benefit UNC Children’s Hospital, according to UNC. Last year, $150,000 was donated to the hospital.

“We are thrilled to welcome international soccer fans back to Chapel Hill this summer for this fantastic event, and we are looking forward to hosting Manchester City and Celtic FC,” Director of Athletics at UNC Bubba Cunningham said back in March.”The atmosphere for last year’s game in Kenan Stadium was outstanding, and we can’t wait to share our beautiful campus and Carolina community with even more visitors from around the world.”

Manchester City is the current Premier League champions, edging out Arsenal at the top of the table by just two points.

The Celtics have won the Scottish Football League 54 times. Since its name change to the Scottish Premiership in 2013, Celtic FC has won all but won championship, including the past three titles.

“This match is a huge economic boon and source of pride for the greater Chapel Hill area, and we are thrilled to host these two teams in our North Carolina communities,” Executive Director of the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau Laurie Paolicelli said in March.

If you’re unable to make it to Kenan Stadium, you can watch the match on ESPN2 when it kicks off.
