The athletics department announced on Wednesday that MJ Rice, a sophomore guard for NC State men’s basketball, will not be participating in the rest of the season.
The waiver submitted by NC State aims to designate Rice’s 2023-24 season as a redshirt year.
Rice participated in nine matches for the Wolfpack, with an average of 4.1 points, 0.1 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game.
Prior to enrolling at NC State, Rice competed on the Kansas basketball team during the 2022-23 season.
