On the first day of the first ever girls flag football season in Wake County, there is a team that remains unbeaten in each pool.

Apex, Middle Creek, Cardinal Gibbons, Holly Springs, and Willow Spring all started the season 3-0 in their respective groups. Now they will try to carry their undefeated records into the second week of competition next Saturday at Middle Creek High School and Rolesville High School.

The outcomes and rankings for each group after Saturday’s events at Athens Drive High School and Green Level High School are as follows.

Group A Results

• Apex (3-0) — def. Athens Drive 13-6; def. Millbrook 20-0; def. Fuquay-Varina 8-6

• Millbrook High School has a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. They defeated Fuquay-Varina with a score of 18-7, but lost to Apex with a score of 20-0. They also defeated Athens Drive with a score of 15-8.

• Athens Drive (1-2) had a loss against Apex, with a score of 13-6, but then bounced back with a win against Fuquay-Varina, with a score of 26-6. However, they suffered another loss against Millbrook, with a score of 15-8.

• Fuquay-Varina (0-3) — lost Millbrook 18-7; lost Athens Drive 26-6; lost Apex 8-6

Group B Results

• Middle Creek High School’s football team has won all three of their games so far this season, defeating Broughton High School with a score of 40-0, Panther Creek High School with a score of 34-8, and Knightdale High School with a score of 34-0.

• Panther Creek has a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. They defeated Knightdale with a score of 22-14, but lost to Middle Creek with a score of 34-8. They also defeated Broughton with a score of 26-6.

• Knightdale had a record of 1-2, with a loss against Panther Creek 22-14, a win against Broughton 18-8, and another loss against Middle Creek 34-0.

• Broughton (0-3) — lost Middle Creek 40-0; lost Knightdale 18-8; lost Panther Creek 26-6

Group C Results

• Cardinal Gibbons has a record of 3 wins and 0 losses, with victories over Rolesville (33-0), Heritage (13-0), and East Wake (26-6).

• Heritage (2-1) defeated East Wake 36-14, but suffered a loss to Cardinal Gibbons 13-0. They bounced back with a victory over Rolesville 25-6.

• Rolesville High School’s football team has a record of 1 win and 2 losses. They were defeated by Cardinal Gibbons with a score of 33-0, but managed to win against East Wake with a close score of 12-8. However, they were unable to secure a victory against Heritage, losing with a score of 25-6.

• East Wake (0-3) — lost Heritage 36-14; lost Rolesville 12-8; lost Cardinal Gibbons 26-6

Group D Results

• Holly Springs High School has won all three of their games this season, defeating Green Level by a score of 11-6, South Garner by a score of 13-0, and Enloe by a score of 33-18.

• Green Level (2-1) — lost Holly Springs 11-6; def. Enloe 26-12; def. South Garner 28-24

• South Garner (1-2) defeated Enloe with a score of 25-0, but suffered losses to Holly Springs (13-0) and Green Level (28-24).

• Enloe High School’s football team, with a current record of 0-3, suffered consecutive losses against South Garner (25-0), Green Level (26-12), and Holly Springs (33-18).

Group E Results

• Willow Spring High School’s football team has had an impressive start to their season with a record of 3 wins and 0 losses. They have defeated Wakefield High School with a score of 13-12, Southeast Raleigh High School with a score of 44-6, and Sanderson High School with a score of 39-12.

• Wakefield High School’s football team has a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. They lost to Willow Spring with a score of 13-12, but they were able to defeat Sanderson with a score of 32-0 and Southeast Raleigh with a score of 41-0.

• Sanderson High School’s football team has a record of 1 win and 2 losses. They won against Southeast Raleigh with a score of 26-0, but suffered defeats against Wakefield with a score of 32-0 and Willow Spring with a score of 39-12.

• Southeast Raleigh has a record of 0-3, with losses to Sanderson (26-0), Willow Spring (44-6), and Wakefield (41-0).
