The Wake County flag football season begins with five undefeated teams.
On the first day of the first ever girls flag football season in Wake County, there is a team that remains unbeaten in each pool.
Apex, Middle Creek, Cardinal Gibbons, Holly Springs, and Willow Spring all started the season 3-0 in their respective groups. Now they will try to carry their undefeated records into the second week of competition next Saturday at Middle Creek High School and Rolesville High School.
The outcomes and rankings for each group after Saturday’s events at Athens Drive High School and Green Level High School are as follows.
Group A Results
- Apex (3-0) — def. Athens Drive 13-6; def. Millbrook 20-0; def. Fuquay-Varina 8-6

Millbrook High School has a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. They defeated Fuquay-Varina with a score of 18-7, but lost to Apex with a score of 20-0. They also defeated Athens Drive with a score of 15-8.

Athens Drive (1-2) had a loss against Apex, with a score of 13-6, but then bounced back with a win against Fuquay-Varina, with a score of 26-6. However, they suffered another loss against Millbrook, with a score of 15-8.
