The top 25 high school boys basketball rankings have been released, with Central Cabarrus remaining in the top spot for the state. Other leading schools such as Reidsville emerged as the top choices in their respective area codes.

The top 25 high school boys basketball rankings have been released, with Central Cabarrus remaining in the top spot for the state. Other leading schools such as Reidsville emerged as the top choices in their respective area codes.

Central Cabarrus has won the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A boys basketball championship for the second year in a row, with a flawless record. In addition, they claimed the top spot in the HighSchoolOT statewide top 25 rankings.

The top four teams in the final top 25 consisted of the champions: Reidsville (2A), North Mecklenburg (4A), Christ School (N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A class). Other champions were Wilson Prep (1A, ranked 21), Forsyth Country Day (NCISAA 3A, ranked 12), Davidson Day (NCISAA 2A, ranked 19), and Victory Christian Center (NCISAA 1A, ranked 22).

A total of 16 teams from the original top 25 rankings ended up being included in the final statewide rankings, with No. 12 Forsyth Country Day being the highest-ranked team that was not initially ranked. Seven of the top 10 teams from the preseason rankings maintained their spot in the top 10, while one team moved up to 11th place.

The complete list of rankings includes a Top 25 for the entire state and separate Top 15 rankings for each of the state’s six area codes.

The list of players selected for the HSOT all-state team will be made public within the next few weeks.
