By the end of the day on Friday, the N.C. High School Athletic Association is expected to have published the official state playoff brackets for boys soccer.

The NCHSAA had a deadline of Thursday evening for conferences to submit their final results. Currently, the NCHSAA is working on selecting playoff qualifiers and organizing brackets for all four divisions.

As you anticipate the release of the official brackets, take a look at HighSchoolOT’s most recent projections for the boys soccer playoffs.

On Friday, the initial stage of the process will involve publishing the last RPI rankings. These rankings are determined using MaxPreps data, but the specific formula can be found on the NCHSAA website. HighSchoolOT will share the final RPI rankings once they are released.

Once the NCHSAA has received the final RPI rankings, they will start creating the brackets. Usually in the late morning, the NCHSAA will release the initial brackets, which are subject to change and not yet final.

The NCHSAA releases preliminary brackets to allow schools to identify and report errors to the NCHSAA.

The NCHSAA will provide schools with a specified time frame to report any errors or inquiries regarding the brackets. Typically, this deadline falls within 60-90 minutes after the initial release of the brackets.

Once the NCHSAA has addressed any mistakes and the deadline for reporting errors has passed, the brackets will be deemed final by the NCHSAA.

After the NCHSAA releases the final brackets, HighSchoolOT will post interactive brackets for viewers to access.

The initial stage of the boys’ soccer state playoffs will take place on Monday, October 30 at the location of the higher-ranked team. The victorious teams will progress to the second round on November 2. Third round matches are set for November 6, followed by the fourth round on November 9, and regionals on November 14. All rounds leading up to the regionals will be held at the site of the higher-ranked team.

The state championships for boys’ soccer will take place on November 17th and 18th at Bryan Park, located near Greensboro.
