The latest Statewide Top 25 includes Mount Tabor, South Stokes, and Millbrook in the boys basketball rankings.

This week’s HSOT Statewide Top 25 boys basketball rankings saw the addition of three new teams: Mount Tabor, South Stokes, and Millbrook. These teams have regained their rankings after being absent for a couple of weeks.

At the beginning of the year, Mount Tabor held the No. 24 spot but dropped out after one week. Millbrook held the No. 16 spot at the start of the year but only maintained it for two weeks. South Stokes rose to No. 21 before suffering a loss to Mount Tabor a few weeks ago.

Furthermore, it should be mentioned that Christ School experienced a significant decrease in ranking, going from 5th place to 18th place after a loss to unranked Covenant Day. Hickory has now claimed the top spot in HSOT’s 828 area code rankings.

Below are some details about our boys’ basketball rankings:

  • The rankings are refreshed every week and published on Monday.

  • All public high schools in North Carolina, except for athletic training academies, can qualify for the top 25 rankings in the state.

  • The state’s six area codes have a separate top 15 list, which is updated on a weekly basis.

  • During the playoffs of the N.C. High School Athletic Association, rankings will be put on hold.

    The final rankings will be announced the week following the state championships.
