As December games begin, the HighSchoolOT’s Statewide Top 25 for boys basketball has undergone some modifications.

Several teams were removed from the rankings due to losses in the previous week, including Victory Christian, Trinity Christian, Panther Creek, and Burlington Christian.

This week, three new teams – South Garner, Forsyth Country Day, and Knightdale – were added to the rankings for the first time this season.

These are some details explaining how our rankings are calculated for boys’ basketball:

• The rankings are refreshed every week and made public on Mondays.

• All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25

• The state’s six area codes have their own top 15 list, which is updated weekly.

• The N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs cause a halt in rankings.

• The rankings will be published the week following the state championships.
