The first and second rounds of the NCHSAA dual-team wrestling playoff brackets will commence on Saturday.

The first and second rounds of the NCHSAA dual-team wrestling playoff brackets will commence on Saturday.

The N.C. High School Athletic Association has announced the official first round matchups for the dual-team wrestling state playoffs, as the final brackets have been released.

The release of the brackets was postponed for multiple hours due to mistakes in reporting and clerical work. The NCHSAA explained that they had to wait for updated rankings from RankWrestling, which included accurate data from schools. This caused a delay of several hours in the NCHSAA’s ability to publish the initial brackets.

After the initial brackets were published, schools were given the opportunity to review for any potential errors. However, the brackets are now considered to be final.

The initial and subsequent stages of the two-team wrestling state playoffs will take place on Saturday. The victors will move on to the third and regional rounds on January 31st. The first two days will consist of quad matches, giving teams the opportunity to progress through two rounds of the playoffs per day.

The victors of the local competitions will progress to the state competitions on Saturday, February 3rd, at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Fieldhouse, which has been the host of the dual-team championships since 2018. The 2A and 4A state championships will occur at 12:00 PM, followed by the 1A and 3A championships at 3:00 PM.

HighSchoolOT will provide coverage of the state playoffs for dual-team wrestling, including results from all over the state.
