The East-West All-Star Football Game has been rescheduled to Saturday due to severe weather conditions.

The East-West All-Star Football Game, organized by the N.C. Coaches Association, has been rescheduled due to anticipated bad weather on Sunday.

The NCCA has announced that the all-star game has been rescheduled to Saturday, December 16th at 1 p.m. It will take place at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, instead of the previously planned Sunday.

Aimee Wilmoth, meteorologist for WRAL-TV, reported that central North Carolina may experience rainfall of 2-3 inches and winds of 30-40 miles per hour. The most intense rain is anticipated to occur on Sunday afternoon and evening, coinciding with the strongest winds. Fortunately, severe thunderstorms are not predicted.

The majority of North Carolina is facing a moderate risk, or level two, of potential flooding.

Rainfall totals for Dec. 16-18, 2023

Precipitation amounts between December 16th and 18th, 2023.

Saturday is not predicted to have rain. As stated by the National Weather Service, Greensboro can expect mostly sunny weather with a temperature reaching 54 degrees.

The players selected for the all-star game arrived in Greensboro on Wednesday to start getting ready for the game happening this weekend.

Tickets to the game are priced at $15 and can be purchased through GoFan’s online platform. Although there are no discounted tickets for students, children who are 5 years old or younger can enter for free.

For the first time ever, the all-star game will take place in December. Usually, it is held in July, along with all-star games for basketball and soccer. However, the NCCA decided to change the date to December so that more students could join in. This way, high school football players who will continue playing in college can also participate, as they are usually unable to do so in July.

The decision to hold the game in July was also in conjunction with the NCCA Coaches Clinic. However, changing the game to December will allow more college football coaches to participate as speakers at the clinic. In the past, NCAA rules prevented many coaches from participating because the clinic was scheduled at the same time as the all-star game.
