The Carolina Panthers, who have the worst record in the NFL, are raising ticket prices by over 4% for the 2024 season. This information was reported by WRALSportsFan.com.
According to sports journalist Steve Reed, represented by the Associated Press,
CHARLOTTE, N.C.
The Carolina Panthers have decided to increase their ticket prices for the 2024 season by a bit over 4%. This announcement comes after a disappointing season where they ended with the worst record in the NFL, 2-15, and failed to score in their last two games.
According to a team representative, the lower level seating area at Bank of America Stadium will experience the largest change, as the prices for season tickets have gone up by an average of 7% for those who own permanent seat licenses. As for the upper level seating, there will be a slight increase of less than 1% overall, with the majority of ticket prices staying the same.
The cost of premium tickets, which cover club seats and suites, will rise according to the conditions outlined in their contracts.
The team did not disclose the updated price for season tickets based on seating section, but they mentioned that the cheapest package will still cost $510, which is consistent with last season’s price.
Carolina’s performance during the 2023 season was challenging, following their decision to select quarterback Bryce Young with the first overall pick. In order to acquire Young, the Panthers traded their star wide receiver D.J. Moore and four draft picks to the Chicago Bears, including the 2024 No. 1 overall pick.
Carolina fans were overcome with exasperation and disinterest during the previous season, leading to the dismissal of head coach Frank Reich and general manager Scott Fitterer.
At the end of the season, the Panthers played in partially empty stadiums and their home game against Dallas was mostly attended by Cowboys fans.
Based on the team’s research, the Panthers’ non-premium ticket prices in 2023 ranked 19th among the 32 teams in the NFL. Despite a 4% increase this season, the team expects to remain competitive. The research also shows that 93% of NFL teams are raising ticket prices for 2024, though four teams have not yet announced their pricing.
On Tuesday, PSL owners will be notified via email regarding the alterations in ticket costs.
The organization announces that individuals who own PSLs have until May 1 to extend their season passes. Those who enroll in a payment plan or make a full payment by April 1 will have a chance to win a fully-inclusive trip to the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.
