The Carolina Panthers just announced their new head coach and general manager at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, causing excitement among fans. Dave Canales is expected to lead the team to success next season. WRAL’s Chris Lee was present when Canales discussed his timeline for winning. Chris joins us live with the team’s plans. It’s hard to ignore the elephant in the room – just 366 days ago, on January 31st, 2023, the Panthers introduced their previous head coach, Frank. Now, a year later, Frank is gone and Dave Canales has taken over. Canales is following Matt Rhule and Frank, who only lasted half a season. The fan base is eager for some wins, as the team hasn’t had a winning season since 2017 and hasn’t made it to the playoffs since 2015. Canales, like the two previous coaches, has a sense of urgency to win now. His focus is on winning today and he is determined to put together a strong team and staff. During the press conference, the new general manager, Dan Morgan, shared that teams used to fear the Panthers’ logo when he played for them in the early 2000s.
