Taina Mair, a second-year player, scored the most points for her team with 16. Despite their valiant effort and nonstop fight for the entire 40 minutes, the Duke women’s basketball team was ultimately defeated 87-58 by the USA Basketball Women’s National Team on Sunday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Besides Mair, the Blue Devils also benefited from strong efforts by senior Kennedy Brown and freshman Oluchi Okananwa.
Okananwa recorded a total of nine points and seven rebounds, while Brown contributed eight points and seven boards.
Duke made 40% of their shots from both the field (26 out of 65) and from beyond the arc (6 out of 15).
The Blue Devils grabbed a higher number of offensive rebounds (15) compared to Team USA (13).
