The fifth-annual HighSchoolOT boys wrestling all-state team features 45 wrestlers making a second, third, or fourth appearance on the team, including two that are now four-time selections (Cardinal Gibbons’ Liam Hickey and Hough’s Jackson Rowling).

The all-state list features a first, second, and third team with two wrestlers per weight class, followed by 28 honorable mention wrestlers. The 28 honorable mention all-state wrestlers — double the number of boys weight classes — are selected without regard to weight class (for instance, 106 pounds could have three HM all-state wrestlers, while 113 could have zero).

Most wrestlers who make the team place high on the podium at the N.C. High School Athletic Association championships with two exceptions: those from the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association and those who were injured prior to or during the state meet and did not place.
