The 2024 HighSchoolOT All-State Girls Cross Country Team

The fifth-annual HighSchoolOT girls cross country all-state team features 18 runners making a second, third, or fourth appearance on the team, including four runners who were repeat first-team selections.

The teams place 10 runners on first, second, and third teams, respectively, based on championship times with 15 runners making honorable mention based mostly on a combination of their championship time and finish.

The full teams are listed below, with runners listed in order of their championship times. Some highlights:

  • Carolina Day’s Caroline Barton graduates as a three-time all-state pick and a two-time first teamer.
  • Annie Miller of Metrolina Christian and Hannah Rae Shaffer of Cardinal Gibbons were four-time all-state selections. Shaffer made the first team her first three seasons, while Miller made the first team twice.
  • Lake Norman junior Kasey Dingman has made the team three years in a row, as has Myers Park junior Kate Willette.
  • Trinity Academy’s Morgan Pennington graduates with three selections in total, including one first team appearance.
  • Cardinal Gibbons led the way with four selections, while Myers Park was second with three. The Crusaders were the No. 1 team in the final HSOT rankings.
