Statewide Volleyball Rankings: Seven ranked teams fall in Week 8, Lake Norman, Charlotte Country Day, and Topsail join poll

A week after the HighSchoolOT Top 25 saw minimal movement, seven different teams fell. It included No. 7 Reagan dropping a match to West Forsyth in five, No. 11 Green Hope losing to No. 4 Green Level for the second time, No. 16 Cox Mill having its win streak snapped by Lake Norman in a three-set sweep, No. 17 J.H. Rose losing to No. 6 D.H. Conley in four, No. 18 Seaforth falling to East Chapel Hill, No. 20 Hoggard being swept by Topsail for the first time in school history, and No. 21 Grimsley dropping a match to No. 12 McMichael.

The shake-up sends McMichael into the Top-10, and Topsail, Charlotte Country Day and Lake Norman into the Top-25.

Teams affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Helene will hold their standing in our rankings until they are able to resume play.

HSOT has two rankings: a statewide Top 25 and top 15s for each of North Carolina’s six area codes. Members of any of these four associations — N.C. High School Athletic Association, N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association, N.C. Christian Schools Association, N.C. Homeschool Athletic Commission — are eligible.
