Statewide Girls Tennis Rankings: Lake Norman Charter starts year atop preseason HSOT Top 25

HighSchoolOT has released its preseason girls tennis rankings for the 2024 North Carolina high school season.

HSOT has two sets of rankings: a statewide Top 25 and top 15s for each of North Carolina’s six area codes. Members of any of these four associations — N.C. High School Athletic Association, N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association, N.C. Christian Schools Association, N.C. Homeschool Athletic Commission — are eligible.

The area code rankings have already been released and can be found at the links below:

Lake Norman Charter, also the leader out of the 704 area code, is at the top of the preseason rankings for North Carolina. The Knights bring back the entire lineup from last year’s 3A championship team that went 24-0.

In second is Marvin Ridge, also from the 704. The Mavericks bring back five starters from a team that went 18-3, losing to only state champions in Myers Park (4A) and Charlotte Country Day (NCISAA 4A).

The top-ranked teams in each classification are: No. 1 Lake Norman Charter (3A), No. 2 Marvin Ridge (4A), No. 3 Charlotte Country Day (NCISAA 4A), No. 20 Davidson Day (NCISAA 3A), No. 21 NCSSM-Durham (2A), and No. 22 Mount Airy (1A).

These rankings will be updated at midseason, at the end of the regular season, and once again after the state championship on these dates:
