Six Tar Heels invited to NFL Combine, but not UNC’s All-American guard :: WRALSportsFan.com

Six former North Carolina football players have been invited to participate in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
The event will be held Feb. 24 through March 3. Prospects who are invited to the combine (329 this season) are likely to be drafted by one of the NFL’s 32 teams.
Running back Omarion Hampton, tight end Bryson Nesbit, defensive linemen Jahvaree Ritzie and Kaimon Rucker, linebacker Power Echols and defensive back Alijah Huzzie were invited to the event.
Rucker suffered a broken fibula in the Tar Heels’ regular-season finale against NC State.
Offensive guard Willie Lampkin, who earned All-America honors this year, was not among the invitees. Lampkin, listed at 5-foot-11 and 290 pounds by UNC, may be considered too short to play offensive line in the NFL.
He measured 5-10 and 270 pounds at the Senior Bowl, where he impressed scouts.
With that talent, UNC went 6-7 in 2024.
NC State offensive lineman Anthony Belton and East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. were invited to the combine. Revel tore ligaments in his knee during practice in September and missed the rest of the season.
Duke, which won nine games, did not have a player invited to the event.
