Seaforth High School has been named the champion of the 2A wrestling tournament, with Rayshun James from Reidsville High School taking home the title of Most Outstanding Wrestler.

In its inaugural year with graduating students, Seaforth High School has achieved its first state championship victory.

The Hawks narrowly won the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A wrestling tournament, defeating Trinity by only 2.5 points. This victory came just two weeks after losing to the Bulldogs in the dual-team championship.

On the evening of the competition, Seaforth produced two winners who were declared state champions. One of these victories, achieved against Trinity, was likely the deciding factor in securing the title.

Reidsville’s Rayshun James was awarded the title of Most Outstanding Wrestler. With three consecutive wins and four appearances in the finals, he secured the award after a dramatic sudden victory.
