Seaforth all-state guard Gabby White commits to Virginia
One of North Carolina’s top 2025 girls basketball prospects is officially off the board.
Seaforth High School’s Gabby White announced her commitment to the University of Virginia via social media on Thursday afternoon.
This past season, White led the Hawks in scoring with an average of 17.2 PPG. She added 8.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.8 steals per contest. For her career, she has averaged 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
In each of the last two seasons, White has helped lead Seaforth to the NCHSAA 2A eastern regional finals. In the school’s second year of existence, she was the driving force that led them to a 2023 2A state runner-up finish.
White, a 5-foot-10 combo guard, is also a two-time HighSchoolOT All-State selection. That includes a first-team selection this past winter. She joins fellow first-teamer Kamryn Kitchen of Independence in pledging her commitment to the Cavaliers. Kitchen, originally alongside White in the 2025 class, reclassified to 2024 and will play this fall for UVA.
The Class of 2025 is filled with top-rated girls basketball prospects, and White becomes the third guard to announce her commitment to the Atlantic Coast Conference. Watauga’s Kate Sears is a Virginia Tech recruit and Rolesville’s Caitlyn Jones recently committed to Wake Forest.
White enters her senior season with 1,387 career points and 822 career rebounds.
