Rosters released for NCCA East-West All-Star basketball games
The N.C. Coaches Association has released the rosters for the 2024 East-West All-Star boys and girls basketball games, which include five HSOT first team all-state selections.
Richmond’s Paul McNeil Jr. is slated to suit up for the East boys’ team while Grimsley’s Richard Goods and Asheboro’s Jerquarius Stanback are on the West’s roster. McNeil Jr. is an N.C. State recruit while Stanback is heading to Appalachian State. In total, nine players in this year’s boys’ game made the HSOT all-state team.
On the girls’ side, North Pitt’s Zamareya Jones, a McDonald’s All-American, first-team all-state player, and N.C. State recruit, will play for the East girls as well as first-teamer Jasmine Felton of Northeastern, a Campbell recruit. There were 11 HSOT all-state selections who made the East-West girls’ game.
Players are nominated by their high school coaches and then selected by the coaching staffs on each all-star team. The game features some of the top graduating seniors in the eastern half the state against their counterparts from the west.
The all-star games will be played on July 15 in conjunction with the annual NCCA coaches clinic.
