Providence takes No. 1 in final girls tennis rankings for 2024

For the first time, Providence is the No. 1 team in the final HighSchoolOT statewide top 25 girls tennis rankings, taking the top spot in the final rankings after winning the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A championship and ending the year with a 20-1 record.

The Panthers are just in front of state runner-up Cardinal Gibbons and 4A West runner-up Myers Park. Terry Sanford, the 3A champ, is fourth and 3A runner-up is Lake Norman Charter.

N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A champ Charlotte Country Day is sixth, and NCHSAA 1A champ Bishop McGuinness is 23rd.
