Apr. 21, 12:55 p.m. – Evans chose to end his recruitment early by committing to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte on Sunday, which was the last day of his official visit with the 49ers. Evans is the first in-state commit for the 49ers in the class of 2026. His quarterback Jacob Smith is the only other player committed to an in-state school as of this writing (NC State). Lately, Evans participated at NC A&T and Coastal Carolina’s junior days and had an official visit scheduled to East Carolina in June. ECU and UNCC were the first two schools to offer Evans.
