In the conference home opener, North Carolina State beat Virginia 76-60 with 15 points from both Dennis Parker Jr. and Jayden Taylor.

NC State is currently 3-0 in the ACC, a feat they have not achieved since the 2012-13 season. In their recent game, DJ Horne contributed 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

The Wolfpack, with a record of 11-3, were ahead 35-28 at the end of the first half. In the beginning of the second half, they went on an 11-4 run, with Parker scoring four points and Horne making a 3-pointer, bringing their lead to 46-32 by the first media timeout.

MJ Rice’s 3-pointer and Michael O’Connell’s three-point play helped the lead reach 21 with 11:49 remaining. Unfortunately, the Cavaliers were down 60-39 and facing yet another lopsided defeat on the road. Their record stands at 2-4 in away games and 0-3 in true road games, with each loss being by a margin of 20 points or more against Wisconsin, Memphis, Notre Dame, and now 16 points in this game.

Isaac McKneely and Ryan Dunn both contributed to the Cavaliers’ (11-4, 2-2) victory with 18 and 16 points respectively. Dunn also added seven rebounds, while Reece Beekman had 12 points and 10 assists.

Before Dennis Parker Jr. made a 3-point shot and DJ Horne scored with a jumper, Virginia was leading 19-15. However, this put NC State ahead by one point. Virginia regained the lead when Andrew Rohde scored, but NC State took the lead again when Morsell made a 3-pointer with 4 1/2 minutes left in the half. This lead was maintained for the rest of the game.

Virginia was in the lead with a score of 19-15, but after Dennis Parker Jr. made a 3-pointer and DJ Horne made a jumper, NC State took the lead by one point. Virginia regained the lead with a score from Andrew Rohde, but then Morsell’s 3-pointer with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in the first half gave the Wolfpack the lead for the rest of the game.
