Reidsville is the clear preseason No. 1 in the statewide rankings. The Rams are coming off of a perfect 29-0 2A state championship season and return star players Kendre Harrison, Dionte Neal, Johnniyus Sharpe, and Cam’Ron Jones. Reidsville has national hype as well – MaxPreps has the Rams No. 25 in the preseason rankings for the country.
New Hanover, a potential favorite in the 4A classification, has debuted at No. 2. The Wildcats return the majority of their production from last year’s 4A runner-up team. Christ School, the back-to-back defending N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A state champions, come in at No. 3. The Greenies are led by 4-star NC State power forward signee Mikey Wilkins.
Farmville Central and Lake Norman round out the top five.
