No. 8 Holly Springs shuts out Middle Creek in girls soccer
Holly Springs ends the week with another win and a perfect record intact after the Golden Hawks’ girls soccer team beat Middle Creek on Friday night.
Ranked No. 8 in the latest HighSchoolOT Top 25, Holly Springs scored five goals in the first half en route to a 5-0 win over the Mustangs.
Emme Curran scored the first goal of the game for the Hawks in the 3rd minute. Curran hit the corner of the net after receiving a through ball from Dri Bonanno, who recorded the assist.
Bonanno added a goal of her own in the 12th minute with a penalty kick. Reese Knouse drew the foul in the box for the Golden Hawks as they took a 2-0 lead.
A few minutes later, Ally Wahdan used a free kick to setup Reese Kulha with a goal inside the box. Then Curran assisted on a goal by Sorin Smith, pushing the Holly Springs lead to 4-0.
The last goal of the game came late in the first half when Kulha scored off a corner kick from Bonanno.
Holly Springs (7-0, 2-0 Southwest Wake 4A Conference) will travel to Green Level on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. for another conference game.
Middle Creek (2-6, 1-2) also returns to aciton on Monday. The Mustangs will travel to Cary for a conference matchup.
