North Carolina set the tone early in defeating Hawaii 87-69 on Friday night.
The Tar Heels jumped out to a 13-2 lead six minutes into play and got impressive guard play to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Guards RJ Davis (18 points), Elliot Cadeau (17 points) and Seth Trimble (13 points) all finished in double figures in scoring. All three have scored at least 10 points in each of UNC’s first four games. Davis moved past Sam Perkins for fourth place all-time in program scoring history.
Hawaii dropped to 4-1.
UNC will stay in the Aloha State, playing in the Maui Invitational during Thanksgiving week. The Tar Heels face Dayton on Monday at 11:30 p.m. EST.
