NC State provides Gordon Sellars from Providence Day School.

North Carolina State University’s football team has extended a verbal scholarship offer to Gordon Sellars of Providence Day, making them the fifth program to do so.

The Wolfpack is the fourth team in North Carolina to recruit the 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver from Charlotte.

The second-year wide receiver has previously received offers from Charlotte, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, and East Carolina.

During his time in high school, Sellars has been coached by Jordan Shipp and Channing Goodwin, who have both signed to Power 5 schools. In the previous season, Sellars made 22 catches for a total of 507 yards and scored four touchdowns. In his sophomore year, he had two receptions for a total of 20 yards.

Providence Day, led by Sellars, clinched their third consecutive NCISAA Division I state championship. In the November 17th final, the Chargers defeated Rabun Gap with a score of 34-27. The team ended the 2023 season with an impressive record of 12-1.
