NC State makes top 4 for Grimsley 5-star QB Faizon Brandon, decision in August

Grimsley High School’s 5-star quarterback Faizon Brandon is zeroing in on his college choice a year ahead of time. The rising junior is has decided to commit to a college on Aug. 3.

He revealed the final four schools that he is considering on his social media. The schools are Alabama, LSU, NC State, and Tennessee.

Brandon is ranked as the No. 1 overall class of 2026 prospect in the country by 247Sports.

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Tennessee has an 84.3% chance to land Brandon. NC State is second at 4.6%. 247Sports gives it a 100% likelihood of Brandon choosing the Volunteers.

Brandon is listed at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds.

The passer made the 2023 HighSchoolOT All-State Football Team after he completed 191 of 277 passing attempts (69.0%) for 3,026 yards (216.1/game), 36 touchdowns, and three interceptions as a sophomore. He also had 85 carries for 528 yards and nine touchdowns. It was his first season as a starter.

He is one of the most efficient passers returning to play high school football in North Carolina this fall.

Grimsley finished the 2023 season with a 13-1 overall record and reached the fourth roun of the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A West playoffs. There, they lost on the road at eventual state champion Weddington.
