NC State follows Duke & UNC with offer for Independence DB Nick Reddish

NC State University’s football program has joined the race for Independence High School defensive back Nick Reddish. The class of 2026 prospect announced a verbal offer from the Wolfpack on Thursday.

The offer comes after Reddish received the same opportunity from Duke on May 20 and UNC on May 21.

Reddish is the younger brother of Quentin Reddish, who enrolled at Virginia Tech over the winter after signing his National Letter of Intent to play for the Hokies.

Nick Reddish is listed at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds. He made the Southwestern 4A Conference’s all-conference team as a sophomore last fall.

He has been offered by (in order): Charlotte, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Troy, UConn, James Madison, Liberty, Missouri, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, USC, Louisville, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Duke, UNC, and Cincinnati.

As a sophomore, Reddish was credited with 95 total tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.

Independence finished the 2023 season with an 11-4 overall record. The Patriots made it to the N.C. High School Athletic Association’s 4A West regional final, but fell to eventual state champion Weddington.
