Monroe 4-star DB Jordan Young picks Clemson over NC State
On Saturday, a highly touted prospect from Union County announced his choice to take his talents across the South Carolina border.
Jordan Young, a consensus 4-star defensive back, committed to Clemson University. Young had a final top four of Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, and NC State.
He is listed at six feet tall and 180 pounds.
ESPN ranks Young as the No. 106 senior prospect in the country. On3 has him No. 132 and Rivals has him No. 205. All three services consider him to be a top five senior in North Carolina.
The class of 2025 defensive back is a two-time HighSchoolOT All-State selection. Once was as a second team two-way selection and the other was as a first team two-way selection.
Young has 147 tackles, 17 interceptions, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, three blocked punts, and a blocked field goal over his career. On offense, he has 2,486 receiving yards in his career. He has scored 30 career touchdowns.
Monroe finished its 2024 regular season with a 9-0 overall record.
